Ceramics this quarter was my first time using clay in any way other than 6th grade art when I mostly just moved it around. Creating a consistent scene of a boat on choppy water, and a shining sun. I was very inspired by Van Gogh's work when he depicted the ocean. I especially took inspiration from the ships of his paintings. I mainly used vases because I believe they are the most versatile for things like a flower vase, or a pencil holder. I also made a very shallow bowl because one of my favorite snacks is popcorn which this bowl is great for. All of the work that I made was wheel thrown because after I was able to create what I wanted, it was very enjoyable. After seeing these works I hope you take the sky that I spent a lot of time on. For all of these pieces I used clear stroke glazes, and made all my different shades of blue by combining cara-bein blue, and eggshell white.
